Netball terms explained
The seven positions
Goal Shooter
Shoots goals from inside the attacking circle and holds the circle for teammates.
Goal Attack
Shoots goals and feeds the circle, linking the centre third to the attack.
Wing Attack
Feeds the ball into the shooting circle but cannot enter it.
Centre
Covers the whole court except both goal circles and starts every centre pass.
Wing Defence
Marks the opposing Wing Attack and disrupts the ball moving into attack.
Goal Defence
Marks the opposing Goal Attack and defends the circle alongside the Goal Keeper.
Goal Keeper
Marks the opposing Goal Shooter and is the last line of defence in the circle.
